Group & Activities - Music

St. John's has indeed been blessed with many musicians.  It is not unusual to hear a chorus of violins once Sunday and a duet of Clarinets the next, not to mention the consistently uplifting organ playing of our organist Velma Lavrenz.  All our music is done to the glory of God and for edification of the Church.  We do make special efforts to ensure that all the music played and sung in our congregation is consistent with sound doctrine and is musically appropriate for Church.  We do not play secular songs in worship, nor do we allow for lyrics that deviate from Lutheran doctrine.  Our music policy is employed in all our services, even at weddings and funerals.  In a day when secularizing sacred songs is all too popular, we do all we can to present sacred music that even the angels would be comfortable to sing.
